AI-suggested

Upgrade FreeSWITCH to version 1.11.2 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. Since the mod_rtmp module is disabled by default in stock builds and configurations, ensure it remains disabled if not required. No other mitigation or workaround is documented.

Description

CVE-2026-116782 is an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in FreeSWITCH's mod_rtmp module prior to version 1.11.2. The flaw occurs because the function rtmp_i_connect() passes an RTMP connect argument to amf0_object_get() without verifying that the AMF value is an object. This can cause invalid memory reads and crashes when a malformed connect command is sent by a client. The vulnerability leads to denial of service by crashing FreeSWITCH and terminating active calls. No memory corruption, data disclosure, or code execution has been demonstrated. The issue is fixed in FreeSWITCH version 1.11.2.
