Description

SemanticMediaWiki versions from 3.1.0 up to but not including 7.3.1 contain a reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious scripts via the unescaped default parameter in JsonResultPrinter. Exploitation involves tricking users into visiting a specially crafted Special:Ask link with a zero-result query and a specific request_type parameter, leading to JavaScript execution in the context of the wiki origin. This can result in session theft or CSRF token compromise. The vulnerability has a medium severity rating and is fixed in version 7.3.1.
