Upgrade Semantic MediaWiki to version 7.3.1 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation or temporary workaround is indicated.

Description

Semantic MediaWiki versions from 2.5.0 up to but not including 7.3.1 have a vulnerability that allows anonymous attackers to cause uncontrolled resource consumption. By sending repeated requests to Special:PropertyLabelSimilarity with a limit parameter set to zero, attackers can bypass SQL limits and trigger quadratic computation via pairwise similar_text() comparisons. This can exhaust PHP CPU, memory, and database connections, leading to denial of service.
