Users should restrict author-level access to trusted users and monitor for suspicious post creations attributed to administrators. Check the vendor advisory or plugin updates regularly for a forthcoming fix. Since the plugin is not a cloud service, remediation depends on applying vendor patches once available.

Description

The Content Egg – Affiliate Product Importer & Price Comparison WordPress plugin up to version 12.0.0 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability. Authenticated users with author-level access or higher can create posts attributed to other users, including administrators, by exploiting improper authorization checks. This allows lower-privileged users to create published posts under an administrator's identity if they have the publish_posts capability for the post type.
