Immich versions prior to 3.2.0 contain an improper authorization vulnerability in the shared-link creation API. Immich is a self-hosted photo and video management solution. Before version 3.2.0, the shared-link creation API accepted albumId and assetIds independently but only authorized the resource matching the requested link type. An attacker with authentication and knowledge of a victim-owned asset UUID could create a shared link of type Album for an attacker-owned album while including the victim's asset UUID in assetIds. The service persisted this unchecked association, exposing victim assets via the anonymous shared link. This vulnerability allows unauthorized access to victim assets and creates a persistent sharing relationship that can be redistributed. The flaw is addressed in Immich version 3.2.0.
