AI-suggested

Upgrade ProFTPD to version 1.3.10rc5 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. Until then, restrict authenticated user permissions carefully and monitor for suspicious use of SITE COPY or SITE CPTO commands.

Description

CVE-2026-119364 is a link-following vulnerability in ProFTPD's mod_copy module affecting versions through 1.3.9e and 1.3.10rc1 through 1.3.10rc4. Authenticated FTP users can exploit this flaw by creating symbolic links in writable directories and using SITE COPY or SITE CPTO commands to overwrite files in locations where write access is normally denied. This allows bypassing of Limit WRITE restrictions.
