Users should monitor vendor advisories for updates. Until a fix is released, avoid processing untrusted VobSub subtitle files and restrict network access to the unauthenticated TCP port 10100 to mitigate exposure.
Description
CVE-2026-119739 is an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the VobSub subtitle decoder libsub_vob used in Nexbox A95X TV boxes. The flaw occurs in the vob_fill_pixel() function when processing a crafted SET_CONTR command with a malicious alpha value, causing an unbounded array index to overwrite adjacent stack memory. This can lead to silent stack corruption or process crashes when malicious VobSub data is sent over an unauthenticated TCP socket or via a malicious .sub file.
