Users should restrict contributor-level access to trusted users only and monitor for updates from the vendor. Since the vulnerability requires authenticated access, minimizing the number of users with contributor or higher privileges reduces risk. Check the vendor's advisory or plugin updates regularly for a forthcoming fix.

Description

The Academy LMS – AI Course Builder, Quizzes, Certificates & eLearning WordPress plugin up to version 4.0.1 contains a directory traversal vulnerability via the 'id' parameter. Authenticated users with contributor-level access or higher can read arbitrary .html files on the server. The plugin appends '.html' to the supplied path, preventing access to files with other extensions such as wp-config.php. The contents of the targeted .html files are returned in the REST API JSON response.
