Since the vulnerability requires authenticated access with Shop Manager-level privileges or higher, restricting user roles and privileges can reduce risk. Monitor vendor advisories for an official fix. Until then, avoid granting unnecessary Shop Manager or higher privileges to untrusted users.

Description

The WPML Multilingual & Multicurrency for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress has a SQL Injection vulnerability in versions up to and including 5.5.7. The flaw exists in the save_currency() AJAX handler, which does not properly validate input or check user capabilities. This allows authenticated users with Shop Manager-level access or higher to inject malicious SQL payloads via the currency exchange rate parameter, potentially extracting sensitive database information.
