A fix is available in FreeRDP version 3.32.2. Users should upgrade to version 3.32.2 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
FreeRDP versions before 3.32.2 have a vulnerability in certificate validation where the function tls_verify_certificate() improperly accepts Common Name fallback despite non-matching Subject Alternative Name (SAN) entries and incorrectly matches IP literals against DNS strings. This flaw allows man-in-the-middle attackers with a certificate from a client-trusted CA to bypass server identity verification and intercept Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) sessions, including keystrokes, clipboard data, and screen content.
