AI-suggested

This vulnerability has been fixed in Symfony HttpKernel versions 5.4.56, 6.4.50, 7.4.23, and 8.1.11. Users should upgrade to these or later versions to remediate the issue. Configuring framework.trusted_hosts can help reject untrusted forwarded hosts, but does not fully mitigate scheme and port manipulation. No other specific mitigations are indicated. Since this is not a cloud service, remediation depends on applying the official patches.

Description

CVE-2026-123339 is a vulnerability in Symfony HttpKernel that allows remote attackers to manipulate the host, scheme, and port of absolute URLs generated during a request. This occurs due to improper trust of forwarded headers in RouterListener::onKernelFinishRequest() when handling inline fragments, temporarily trusting 127.0.0.1 as a proxy. The flaw affects Symfony versions prior to 5.4.56, 6.x prior to 6.4.50, 7.x prior to 7.4.23, and 8.x prior to 8.1.11. Applications accessed over HTTP from 127.0.0.1 behind certain proxies that forward client headers are vulnerable. The issue is mitigated if framework.trusted_hosts is configured, but scheme and port can still be manipulated. The vulnerability has a low CVSS score of 2.3 and has been fixed in the stated versions.
