Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-12378 is a deserialization of untrusted data vulnerability (CWE-502) in the Appointment Booking Calendar Plugin and Scheduling Plugin for WordPress through version 1.1.28. The plugin fails to validate input before deserializing PHP objects, enabling unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious objects. Exploitation requires the presence of a gadget chain on the target site to escalate this to remote code execution. No CVSS score or vendor advisory is currently available, and no patch or remediation guidance has been published.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation can lead to remote code execution on the affected WordPress site, potentially allowing attackers to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the web server. This poses a critical security risk including full site compromise.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the plugin functionality if possible and monitor for updates from the vendor. Avoid exposing the affected plugin to untrusted users.
