Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-12557 is an authorization bypass vulnerability (CWE-862) in the Ninja Forms - File Uploads WordPress plugin by SaturdayDrive. The plugin fails to properly verify whether a user is authorized to perform actions related to plugin debug logs. As a result, unauthenticated attackers can read all debug log entries or permanently delete all rows from the wp_nf3_log table. This affects all plugin versions up to and including 3.3.29. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 5.3 (medium severity), with network attack vector, low attack complexity, no privileges required, no user interaction, and impact limited to integrity loss without confidentiality or availability impact.

Potential Impact

An attacker without authentication can read sensitive debug log information or delete all debug log entries from the plugin's database table. This compromises the integrity of the plugin's logging data but does not affect confidentiality or availability of the system beyond the logs.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict access to the wp_nf3_log database table and monitor for suspicious activity related to the plugin. Avoid exposing the plugin or its debug logs to untrusted users.
