Technical Analysis

This vulnerability (CWE-770) involves allocation of resources without limits or throttling in Rockwell Automation 1732E ArmorBlock® I/O devices, leading to denial-of-service conditions. Specifically, the affected devices improperly handle network storm traffic, which interrupts communication channels and causes faults. The issue affects versions from 0 up to and including 3.012. No patch or remediation details are provided in the available data.

Potential Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability can cause denial of service by interrupting device communication and causing faults, impacting TCP and UDP ports. Affected devices require a power cycle to restore normal operation, potentially causing operational downtime.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, consider network-level controls to limit storm traffic targeting these devices. No official fix or workaround is provided in the current data.
