Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-15230 identifies an improper access control vulnerability (CWE-284) in the YayPricing WordPress plugin prior to version 3.5.7. The plugin's REST API routes do not enforce proper capability checks and rely only on a shared nonce for authentication. This flaw permits any authenticated user, regardless of privilege level, to modify pricing settings and access sensitive coupon code information.

Potential Impact

An attacker with any authenticated WordPress user account, including subscriber-level accounts, can exploit this vulnerability to alter the store's pricing configuration and retrieve private coupon codes. This could lead to unauthorized price manipulation and potential financial loss or abuse of discount mechanisms.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict user roles that can authenticate or disable the affected REST API routes if possible. Monitor for updates from the plugin vendor regarding patches or official mitigations.
