Published: 07/13/2026 (07/13/2026, 08:30:16 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: Shibby
Product: Tomato

Description

A weakness has been identified in Shibby Tomato up to 1.28.0000. This affects the function sub_2D048 of the component CIFS Mount Handler. Technical Analysis

This vulnerability in Shibby Tomato firmware (up to 1.28.0000) involves an OS command injection in the CIFS Mount Handler component's sub_2D048 function. An attacker can remotely manipulate the cifs1/cifs2 arguments to execute arbitrary OS commands. The vulnerability is publicly known but no official fix or patch has been provided by the vendor. The project is superseded by FreshTomato, which may imply no further updates for Shibby Tomato.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands on affected devices, potentially leading to unauthorized control or disruption of the device. The CVSS 4.0 score of 5.3 indicates a medium severity impact with network attack vector, low attack complexity, and no user interaction required.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Since the project is superseded by FreshTomato, migrating to FreshTomato firmware may be a practical mitigation. Until an official fix is available, restrict network access to the affected device and avoid exposing vulnerable services externally.
