AI-suggested
Red Hat recommends restricting network access to the IIOP listener (default TCP port 3528) so that only localhost or authorized management networks can connect. This can be done by removing the port from firewall rules using firewalld and reloading the firewall configuration. If CORBA/IIOP interoperability is not required, the IIOP subsystem can be removed via the JBoss Management CLI, noting that this will break remote EJB invocations relying on IIOP. Applying these mitigations requires restarting or reloading the JBoss EAP service, which will disrupt active connections.
Description
CVE-2026-15564 is a vulnerability in Wildfly's IIOP listener used by Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 7. It allows deserialization of input streams before authentication, potentially enabling an attacker with access to the IIOP port to send malicious objects. Exploitation requires the target EJB to accept untyped method parameters and the presence of exploitable gadget chains in the classpath. By default, the IIOP service binds to localhost, limiting remote exploitation. Red Hat rates this vulnerability as Moderate due to these restrictive conditions.
