Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-15958 is a missing authorization vulnerability (CWE-862) in the Easy Integration for Dropbox WordPress plugin prior to version 2.2.0. The plugin registers several file-management AJAX actions for unauthenticated users but fails to enforce authorization checks on these actions. As a result, an unauthenticated attacker can manipulate files in the linked Dropbox account and access sensitive account information such as email addresses.

Potential Impact

An attacker can remotely and without authentication list, download, and upload arbitrary files in the connected Dropbox account. Additionally, the attacker can obtain the connected account and administrator email addresses. This compromises the confidentiality and integrity of the Dropbox account data and exposes sensitive user information.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Since the vulnerability affects versions before 2.2.0, upgrading to version 2.2.0 or later (once available) is recommended if the vendor releases a fix. Until then, restrict access to the plugin's AJAX endpoints or disable the plugin if feasible.
