Vendor/Project: webtoffee
Product: WebToffee WooCommerce PDF Invoices, Packing Slips, Delivery Notes & Shipping Labels

Description

The WebToffee WooCommerce PDF Invoices, Packing Slips, Delivery Notes & Shipping Labels WordPress plugin contains a directory traversal vulnerability in the get_image_src_in_base64 function. This vulnerability affects all versions up to and including 4.9.8. Authenticated users with subscriber-level access or higher can exploit this flaw to read arbitrary files on the server. The contents of these files are base64-encoded and embedded into cached invoice HTML, which is then accessible through the plugin's Print/Download invoice endpoints. These endpoints require only a valid nonce and access key for access.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-18027 is a CWE-22 directory traversal vulnerability in the WebToffee WooCommerce PDF Invoices, Packing Slips, Delivery Notes & Shipping Labels WordPress plugin. The vulnerability exists in the get_image_src_in_base64 function and allows authenticated attackers with subscriber-level privileges or higher to read arbitrary files on the server. The attacker can retrieve base64-encoded file contents embedded in cached invoice HTML served via the plugin's Print/Download invoice endpoints, which require only a valid nonce and access key. This issue affects all versions up to and including 4.9.8.

Potential Impact

An attacker with subscriber-level access or higher can read arbitrary files on the server, potentially exposing sensitive information. The vulnerability does not allow modification or deletion of data, nor does it affect availability. The confidentiality impact is high, while integrity and availability impacts are none.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict subscriber-level access and monitor for suspicious activity related to invoice generation endpoints. Avoid exposing nonces and access keys unnecessarily.
