Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-19454 is an incorrect authorization vulnerability (CWE-863) in the JetBackup WordPress plugin prior to version 3.1.23.5. The plugin fails to enforce proper multisite authorization checks before providing access to backup archives and job logs. As a result, a network main site administrator without Super Admin privileges can access and download full backups of the entire multisite network, exposing all sites' data and the shared webroot.

Potential Impact

An attacker with network main site administrator privileges but without Super Admin rights can obtain full backups of the entire multisite WordPress network. This leads to exposure of sensitive data from all sites within the network and the shared webroot, compromising confidentiality. There is no indication of impact on integrity or availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or remediation guidance is currently available. Users should monitor the vendor's advisory for updates and apply the fix once released. Until then, restrict network main site administrator privileges to trusted users only to reduce risk.
