Technical Analysis

The vulnerability exists in the Upload Controller component of DTStack Taier 1.4.0, specifically in the MultipartFile.getOriginalFilename method. Improper handling of the file argument enables path traversal attacks, which can be initiated remotely by an attacker with high privileges. The vendor has addressed this issue in version 1.5.0, with the patch identified by commit 572773c4315e23e51e30115151cb091749a8d03e.

Potential Impact

An attacker with high privileges can exploit this vulnerability to perform path traversal, potentially accessing or manipulating files outside the intended directory. The CVSS 4.0 base score is 5.1 (medium severity), reflecting network attack vector, low complexity, no user interaction, and limited confidentiality, integrity, and availability impacts.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade DTStack Taier from version 1.4.0 to version 1.5.0, which contains the official fix for this path traversal vulnerability. No other mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.
