Technical Analysis

Multiple SQL Injection vulnerabilities exist in Kiteworks Secure Data Forms before version 9.3.0. An attacker with authenticated access and the FormBuilder role can exploit these flaws to retrieve or alter form definitions belonging to other users and modify certain global configuration settings. This improper neutralization of special elements in SQL commands (CWE-89) allows unauthorized data access and modification. The vendor has released version 9.3.0 to patch these issues.

Potential Impact

An authenticated user with the FormBuilder role can exploit the SQL Injection vulnerabilities to read sensitive information from other users' form definitions and alter global configuration parameters. This can lead to unauthorized data disclosure, data integrity compromise, and potential disruption of service. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 7.6 (High), reflecting the significant impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade Kiteworks Secure Data Forms to version 9.3.0 or later, where these SQL Injection vulnerabilities have been fixed. No other official remediation or temporary fixes are indicated. Patch status is confirmed by the vendor advisory stating the fix is included in version 9.3.0.
