What to do

AI-suggested

Until a patch is available, monitoring for unexpected server terminations and avoiding exposure of the vulnerable service to untrusted clients may reduce risk.

Description

Stomper 5e2741e contains a denial of service vulnerability where the server process terminates upon receiving a SIGPIPE signal if a broker sends data to a client whose TCP connection was already closed. This can be triggered by any unauthenticated client by closing the socket at specific points, causing the server to crash.
