What to do

AI-suggested

Until an official fix is available, restrict access to the signup endpoint if possible, and monitor for suspicious registration activity. Do not rely on client-side or superficial validation of role parameters. Implement server-side validation to enforce proper role assignment during user registration.

Description

CVE-2026-31070 is a critical vulnerability in the LalanaChami Pharmacy Management System that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to escalate privileges by assigning themselves an administrative role during user registration. This occurs because the /api/user/signup endpoint does not validate the role parameter in the request body, enabling privilege escalation without authentication.
