A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory from Ubuntu confirms that this issue has been fixed in updated kernel packages. Systems running the affected linux-azure kernel versions should upgrade to the fixed versions to mitigate this vulnerability.
Description
A null pointer dereference vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net/sched cls_fw module was fixed. The issue occurs when the old-method path in fw_classify() dereferences a null pointer due to shared blocks leaving block->q NULL. This can happen when an empty cls_fw filter is attached to a shared block and a packet with a nonzero major skb mark is classified. The vulnerability has been addressed by rejecting the problematic configuration in fw_change().
