Description
CVE-2026-31454 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's XFS filesystem code. It occurs in the functions xfs_inode_item_push() and xfs_qm_dquot_logitem_push() where the AIL lock is dropped during buffer IO, allowing a log item to be freed prematurely. This leads to a dereference of a freed pointer, causing potential memory corruption. The issue has been fixed by saving the pointer while the lock is held to ensure validity.
