AI-suggested
An official patch is available and included in Linux kernel versions 6.8.0 and later, as well as related updated builds. Users should apply the latest kernel updates to remediate this vulnerability. After updating, a system reboot is required to apply the changes. Due to an ABI change, third-party kernel modules must be recompiled and reinstalled. Follow vendor guidance for updating and recompiling kernel modules. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's TDX guest driver (virt: tdx-guest) was fixed by properly validating the host-controlled 'quote' buffer length. The flaw allowed the host to specify a response length larger than the guest's allocation or race modifications, potentially leaking data beyond allocated memory to guest userspace. This could lead to information disclosure crossing container boundaries in TDX environments with remote attestation. The issue affects multiple Linux kernel versions prior to 6.8.0 and related builds. A patch is available and included in recent Linux kernel updates.
