A fix has been applied to the Linux kernel to address this vulnerability. Users should update to patched versions of the linux-azure kernel as listed in the affected versions to remediate this issue.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's bridge networking code (br_nd_send function) allowed improper validation of Neighbor Discovery (ND) option lengths. This could cause the parser to read beyond the intended option span or use an incorrectly sized source link-layer address. The issue has been resolved by validating option lengths against the remaining option area and ensuring the source LLADDR is only read when the option size is sufficient for an Ethernet address.
