AI-suggested
Upgrade to Linux kernel version 6.18.59 or later, where the issue is fixed by skipping the SPDIF1 type during DAIO initialization in the ALSA ctxfi driver. The fix is included in the specified commits and kernel release 6.18.59. No other mitigation is required.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel ALSA ctxfi driver caused a kernel crash on certain hardware models due to improper enumeration of the SPDIF1 type during DAIO initialization. The issue arose from a recent driver refactoring that looped over all DAIOTYP entries, including SPDIF1, which is only valid for a specific hardware model and lacks definition for others. This was fixed by skipping the SPDIF1 type in the parser loop to prevent the crash.
