Description
CVE-2026-31781 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm_compat_ioctl path where a user-controlled pointer is dereferenced into a function pointer table, a pattern associated with Spectre-type issues. The flaw was addressed by applying array_index_nospec() to the index used for function pointer lookup, mitigating speculative execution risks. This vulnerability affects multiple Linux kernel versions from 3.16.63 up to and including 4.20. Fixed versions include 4.15 and 4.20 and specific commits identified by their hashes.
