Until a fix is available, avoid using untrusted ContentProviders with the flutter_file_picker plugin on Android. Monitor vendor channels for updates or patches addressing this path traversal issue.
Description
The flutter_file_picker plugin for Flutter, up to version 10.3.10, contains a path traversal vulnerability in its Android implementation. The vulnerability arises because the openFileStream() method uses unsanitized DISPLAY_NAME values from ContentResolver.query() when constructing file paths. This allows a malicious Android app with a crafted ContentProvider to cause the plugin to create files or directories outside the intended cache directory within the victim app's internal storage. Existing files are not overwritten due to an existence check. The vulnerability has a low severity score and no known exploits in the wild.
