Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-41871 describes a missing authorization vulnerability (CWE-862) combined with unsafe reflection (CWE-470) in Apache Nutch Server's REST API. This flaw affects Apache Nutch versions from 1.10 through 1.22, enabling unauthorized users to potentially invoke code or classes without proper authorization checks. The Apache Software Foundation recommends upgrading to version 1.23, which removes the vulnerable Nutch Server component. If upgrading is not feasible, restricting access to trusted users is advised.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows unauthorized access to the Nutch Server REST API, potentially enabling attackers to execute unauthorized actions or code via unsafe reflection.
