A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The fix corrects the boundary check to ensure sufficient bytes are available before calling get_len(), preventing the out-of-bounds read. Users should update to patched kernel versions as provided by their Linux distribution vendors.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's netfilter nf_conntrack_h323 module allows an out-of-bounds read in the decode_choice() function due to improper boundary checking before calling get_len(). This flaw can be triggered remotely by sending a crafted Q.931 SETUP message to port 1720 through a firewall with the nf_conntrack_h323 helper active. The issue has been fixed by ensuring proper boundary checks for the maximum bytes read by get_len().
