Description

A vulnerability in rsync versions prior to 3.4.3 allows incorrect authorization when using a daemon configured with a chroot. Reverse DNS lookups are performed after entering the chroot, which may lack necessary files for hostname resolution. This causes hostname-based deny rules to fail, potentially allowing attackers controlling PTR records to bypass hostname restrictions. IP-based access controls remain effective. The issue is fixed in version 3.4.3.
