AI-suggested

If you cannot patch yet, avoid using untrusted workspace configurations that can influence MCP stdio server environment variables. Operators should be cautious about the environment variables passed to MCP server processes during session startup.

Description

OpenClaw versions before 2026.4.20 have a vulnerability in the MCP stdio server configuration where improper validation of environment variables allows attackers to execute arbitrary code. Malicious workspace configurations can inject dangerous startup variables such as NODE_OPTIONS, LD_PRELOAD, or BASH_ENV into MCP server processes, enabling code injection during session startup.
