AI-suggested

A patch is available and has been released in Linux kernel versions 7.0.0-27.27 and later. Users and administrators should update affected Linux kernel versions to these fixed releases or later to remediate the vulnerability. No additional mitigation actions are required beyond applying the official fix.

Description

CVE-2026-46030 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's EDAC/versalnet driver where a device_node reference leak occurs in the mc_probe() function. The issue arises because the device_node reference returned by of_parse_phandle() was not properly released, causing a memory leak. This has been fixed by using an automatic cleanup attribute that ensures the reference is released when the variable goes out of scope. The vulnerability has been addressed in multiple Linux kernel versions with patches available.
