A patch is available and fixed versions include 7.0.0-28.28~24.04.1, 7.0.0-27.27, 7.0.0-1008.8, 7.0.0-1010.10, 7.0.0-1009.9, and others in the 7.0.0 series. Users should update to these fixed Linux kernel versions to remediate the vulnerability.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's md/md-llbitmap subsystem allowed reading bitmap data from RAID member disks that were not fully synchronized. This could cause stale or uninitialized bitmap data to be used, leading to incorrect dirty bit tracking and potential data corruption during recovery or normal operation. The issue was fixed by adding a check for the In_sync flag to ensure bitmap pages are only read from fully synchronized disks.
