AI-suggested

A patch is available and should be applied by upgrading to one of the fixed Linux kernel versions starting from 7.0.0-28.28~24.04.1 or later. Users should follow vendor guidance to update their kernel to a fixed release to remediate this vulnerability.

Description

CVE-2026-46093 is a concurrency vulnerability in the Linux kernel's memory management subsystem. The function decay_va_pool_node() can be invoked concurrently from two different paths without proper serialization, leading to race conditions and potential memory leaks. This issue is resolved by taking the vmap_purge_lock in the shrinker path to ensure safe concurrent execution. The vulnerability affects multiple Linux kernel versions prior to 7.0.0-28.28~24.04.1 and related builds. A patch is available and has been incorporated into fixed versions.
