AI-suggested
A patch is available and should be applied. The issue is fixed in Linux kernel versions 5.15.0-1111.115~20.04.1 and later. Upgrading to these fixed versions will resolve the vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel tracepoint subsystem was resolved, where failure to properly clean up after a failed probe installation could leave persistent side effects. Specifically, if func_add() fails during a tracepoint transition, the corresponding unregistration function is not called, causing resource leaks such as stuck reference counts and ongoing syscall trace overhead. This issue affects certain Linux Azure kernel versions and has been fixed in later releases.
