Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-46440 is a vulnerability in FlowiseAI's Flowise product before version 3.1.2. The checkBasicAuth endpoint performs credential validation in plaintext without implementing rate limiting and uses direct comparison methods. This constitutes insufficient protection of credentials (CWE-522), potentially allowing attackers to compromise authentication mechanisms. The vulnerability has been addressed in Flowise version 3.1.2.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows attackers to potentially obtain or guess credentials due to plaintext validation and lack of rate limiting, which can lead to unauthorized access. The CVSS score of 7.5 reflects a high severity with high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the affected system.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade Flowise to version 3.1.2 or later, where this vulnerability has been patched. Since the vendor advisory confirms the issue is fixed in 3.1.2, applying this official fix is the recommended remediation.
