Description

motionEye versions prior to 0.44.0 have a critical vulnerability where authentication cookies (meye_username and meye_password_hash) are accepted without server-side session validation. The administrator credentials are stored in a globally readable configuration file, allowing local users to obtain reusable credentials. This flaw enables unauthenticated attackers who know a username and hash to impersonate users, potentially leading to account lockout, password changes, data enumeration, destruction, and exfiltration. The issue is fixed in version 0.44.0.
