Vendor/Project: shopperlabs
Product: shopper

Description

CVE-2026-47744 is a critical improper privilege management vulnerability in shopperlabs shopper versions prior to 2.8.0. It involves two authorization defects that allow any authenticated user with low privileges to escalate to full administrator rights. Specifically, the team settings page lacks proper authorization checks, enabling users to create roles and delete administrators. Additionally, write actions in role permissions are improperly gated by a read-only permission, allowing arbitrary permission grants. This combined flaw permits complete takeover of the RBAC system and removal of legitimate administrators. The vulnerability is fixed in version 2.8.0.

Technical Analysis

Shopperlabs shopper before version 2.8.0 contains two distinct authorization defects in the team settings functionality. The Settings/Team/Index page does not enforce mount() authorization, allowing any authenticated user to access it and perform privileged actions such as creating roles and deleting users, including administrators. The Settings/Team/RolePermission component incorrectly gates write actions behind the read-only view_users permission, enabling users with this permission to escalate privileges arbitrarily. Together, these flaws allow a low-privilege authenticated user to escalate to full administrator privileges and remove legitimate administrators from the panel. The issue is addressed in shopper version 2.8.0.

Potential Impact

An attacker with any authenticated access, even with minimal privileges, can escalate to full administrator rights within the shopper admin panel. This includes creating new roles, deleting users (including administrators), and granting arbitrary permissions. The vulnerability compromises confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the e-commerce admin panel, potentially leading to full system takeover and disruption of administrative controls.

Mitigation Recommendations

This vulnerability is fixed in shopper version 2.8.0. Users should upgrade to version 2.8.0 or later to remediate this issue. No official patch or temporary workaround is indicated in the advisory. Until upgrading, restrict authenticated access to trusted users only to minimize risk.
