Published: 05/13/2026 (05/13/2026, 09:26:12 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: themefusion
Product: Avada (Fusion) Builder

Description

The Avada Builder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to time-based SQL Injection via the ‘product_order’ parameter in all versions up to, and including, 3.15.1 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database. Note: The vulnerability can only be exploited if WooCommerce was previously used and then deactivated.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-4798 is a SQL Injection vulnerability in the Avada (Fusion) Builder WordPress plugin caused by improper neutralization of special elements in the 'product_order' parameter. The plugin fails to sufficiently escape user input and prepare SQL queries, enabling unauthenticated attackers to append additional SQL commands. This vulnerability is exploitable only if WooCommerce was previously used and then deactivated. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 7.5 (high severity) with network attack vector, low attack complexity, no privileges required, no user interaction, and impacts confidentiality but not integrity or availability.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows unauthenticated attackers to perform time-based SQL Injection attacks, potentially extracting sensitive information from the database. The vulnerability does not impact data integrity or availability according to the CVSS vector. Exploitation requires a specific condition that WooCommerce was previously installed and then deactivated, limiting the attack surface.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is released, administrators should verify if WooCommerce was previously used and deactivated, and consider reactivating WooCommerce or restricting access to the vulnerable parameter as temporary measures. Monitor official themefusion communications for updates and patches.
