Description

A path traversal vulnerability exists in the XWiki Platform WebJars API in versions prior to 16.10.17, 17.4.9, and 17.10.3. This flaw allows an attacker with admin access to a subwiki and the ability to install a malicious WebJar extension to write arbitrary files on the server. Potential impacts include overwriting configuration files and changing the superadmin password. The vulnerability has been patched in the specified versions. No known workarounds exist other than restricting script and admin rights carefully.
