Vendor/Project: filamentphp
Product: filament

Description

FilamentPHP filament versions from 4.0.0 up to but not including 4.11.5 and 5.6.5 contain a timing discrepancy vulnerability on the login page. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to enumerate registered email addresses by observing response time differences. The vulnerability only discloses account existence information and does not impact confidentiality, integrity, or availability beyond that. It is fixed starting from versions 4.11.5 and 5.6.5.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-48166 is a timing discrepancy vulnerability (CWE-208) in the login page of filamentphp filament. Versions from 4.0.0 until 4.11.5 and 5.6.5 are affected. The issue allows unauthenticated attackers to enumerate registered email addresses by measuring observable timing differences during login attempts. This information disclosure vulnerability does not allow further compromise beyond account enumeration. The flaw is resolved in filament versions 4.11.5 and 5.6.5.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability enables attackers to confirm whether specific email addresses are registered accounts by exploiting timing differences on the login page. This can aid in targeted phishing or brute force attacks but does not directly compromise account credentials or system integrity. There is no impact on data confidentiality beyond account existence disclosure, nor on system availability or integrity.

Mitigation Recommendations

This vulnerability is fixed in filament versions 4.11.5 and 5.6.5. Users should upgrade to these or later versions to remediate the issue. Patch status is not explicitly stated as 'official-fix' in the advisory, but the description confirms the fix in these versions. No other mitigation or temporary workaround is provided.
