Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-48315 is an improper input validation vulnerability in Adobe ColdFusion affecting versions 2025.9, 2023.20, and earlier. This flaw allows an attacker to inject malicious scripts into web pages, leading to arbitrary code execution within the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction, such as opening a malicious file. The vulnerability impacts confidentiality and integrity with a changed scope, as indicated by the CVSS vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:N). No official patch or remediation level has been disclosed at this time.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation could result in arbitrary code execution with the privileges of the current user, allowing attackers to inject malicious scripts and potentially gain elevated access or control over user accounts or sessions. The vulnerability affects confidentiality and integrity but does not impact availability. Exploitation requires user interaction, limiting the attack vector to scenarios where victims open malicious files.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Since no official fix or remediation level has been provided by Adobe, users should monitor Adobe's security advisories for updates. Until a patch is available, users should exercise caution with files received from untrusted sources to prevent exploitation requiring user interaction.
