Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: smub
Product: All in One SEO – Powerful SEO Plugin to Boost SEO Rankings & Increase Traffic

Description

The All in One SEO plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Sensitive Information Exposure via 'internalOptions' localized script data in versions up to, and including, 4.9.7 due to sensitive internal option data being passed to wp_localize_script() in post editor contexts without effective masking for low-privilege users. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to view configured API/OAuth tokens and license-related values from page source.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-5075 affects the All in One SEO WordPress plugin (versions up to 4.9.7) by exposing sensitive internal option data through the 'internalOptions' localized script data in post editor contexts. The vulnerability arises because sensitive API/OAuth tokens and license-related values are passed to wp_localize_script() without effective masking for users with contributor-level privileges or higher. This allows these authenticated users to access sensitive configuration data by inspecting the page source. The issue is categorized under CWE-200 (Exposure of Sensitive Information) and has a CVSS 3.1 base score of 4.3, reflecting a medium impact primarily on confidentiality. No vendor advisory or patch links are provided, and the plugin is not a cloud service, so remediation depends on vendor action or user updates.

Potential Impact

Authenticated users with contributor-level access or higher can view sensitive internal option data, including API/OAuth tokens and license-related values, which should normally be restricted. This exposure could lead to unauthorized use of these credentials or license information. The vulnerability does not impact integrity or availability. There are no known exploits in the wild currently.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is released, restrict contributor-level access to trusted users only and monitor for updates from the plugin vendor. Avoid exposing sensitive API or license tokens in environments where untrusted contributors have access.
