AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been released in Linux kernel versions 5.15.0-1117.124~20.04.1 and later. Users should upgrade to these fixed versions or later to remediate the vulnerability. No additional mitigations are specified or required.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's batman-adv module could cause a NULL pointer dereference when the system attempts to send Originator Messages (OGMv2) on a disabled interface. This occurs because the mesh_iface pointer is set to NULL upon interface disablement, but the code may still attempt to use it, leading to a crash. The issue has been fixed in several patched Linux kernel versions.
