AI-suggested

A fix for this memory leak vulnerability has been implemented in the Linux kernel source code. Users should update to the latest kernel versions that include this patch. Since this is a code-level fix, applying the official kernel update is the recommended remediation. No additional mitigation is indicated.

Description

A memory leak vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mt76 WiFi driver was fixed. The issue occurs when the function mt76_connac_mcu_alloc_sta_req() allocates memory that is not freed if certain intermediate functions fail. This leads to a memory leak in error paths of mt76_connac_mcu_sta_wed_update() and mt76_connac_mcu_sta_key_tlv(). The flaw was identified through static analysis and code review and has been resolved by explicitly freeing the allocated memory in these error cases.
