AI-suggested
A patch is available and included in Linux kernel versions 5.15.0-1117.124~20.04.1 and later. Users should upgrade to these fixed kernel versions or later to remediate the vulnerability. No additional mitigations are required as the fix addresses the root cause.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Bluetooth management subsystem was resolved. The flaw involved improper validation of advertising TLV (Type-Length-Value) data, allowing a buffer over-read when the length byte was at the end of the buffer. This could cause the parser to read beyond the allocated advertising data buffer. The issue was fixed by reordering checks to ensure the length of each element is validated before inspecting its type byte.
